About Us
Almost nine months after World War II ended, historian Landon Jones said it best: “the cry of the baby was heard across the land.” In 1946, 3.4 million babies were born—20% more than the year before—kicking off the legendary baby boom.
The boom didn’t stop there: 3.8 million babies in 1947, 3.9 million in 1952, and over 4 million each year from 1954–1964. By the end, the U.S. had 76.4 million baby boomers, nearly 40% of the population.
In 1966, Time magazine named Generation Twenty-Five and Under its “Persons of the Year.” That was us.
In 2008, Joe (J.B.) Lafferty launched the Timber Pines Boomers Club, a hub for the largest, most energetic generation in our community.
Today, with 1,063 members, Timber Pines Boomers is one of the largest Baby Boomer groups in the world. With 458 groups in 282 cities across 13 countries, we continue to keep the spirit, connections, and energy alive.
